The new overlay for my ancient Graphire came today, mwhahaha!
I notice LoudTwitter didn't ship while I was away... that sucks.
My flight out of Atlanta was about a half hour late. Midwest airlines shares a gate with Frontier and the flight before mine, to Denver, was late getting in. So they kinda threw everyone off. They had to hold all connecting flights in Milwaukee or most of that plane would've been screwed. I got into Grand Rapids a bit after midnight on Wednesday. On the up side... I got fresh baked chocolate chip cookies on the plane. I watched them put them in the plane oven, it was amazing.
Thanksgiving Day itself was awesome, save for my father yelling for everyone to get out of his kitchen. Which is common, but I still haven't gotten used to it. There were 8 of us total for dinner. My father, step-mom, myself, my oldest brother, my step-brother (who was saying at the house as well, thankfully we didn't have to share a bathroom), my step-sister and her husband, and my step-mom's old neighbor, whose late husband was good friends with Dr. Martin Luther King. We all watched the Lions get slaughtered. 75 years of suck guys, thanks. And the game after that wasn't any good either.
On Friday I started the great money move. I'm switching banks finally. I'd like to be able to access my money while here and vacationing up in Michigan. So I'm moving from Wachovia to Fifth Third. That was relatively painless. The middle child and his family came over on Friday, and my dad bought a Wii. So we spent 9 hours playing that thing and I got Wii arm because I'm sad and pathetic and get little to no exercise.
Saturday I took the plunge and went shopping with my dad. I hate shopping with an undying passion and only do it once a year, generally around this time so my dad has something to wrap and give me for Christmas/Hanukah. That was... exhausting. Trying to find light wash jeans in winter is like finding a needle in a hay stack =p Dropped my old scanner off with Poonya later, went to dinner at Brann's, my favorite local restaurant, and saw a Griffins game. They won, which was awesome, and I got to wear my Federov jersey without looking like a weirdo.
Had a late breakfast/brunch with my oldest brother and step-brother Sunday morning. I miss my dad's cooking like whoa. After it started to snow I escaped in the Explorer (worrying the crap out of my dad mind you, because it was "nasty" out) heading north to see my best friend, Kh'et for a while. Scooted a bit further north to have dinner with my mom and step-dad. Upon returning to my mom's house I called my dad and said I was staying there for the evening. 1) to keep him from having a nervous breakdown. He was so worried about me driving in the weather in a 4x4 vehicle that he had me cal him whenever I got to my destination and whenever I was leaving. I was very annoying. And 2) so I could go back and see Kh'et and not have to worry about what time I got home, waking the dogs or setting off an alarm, like I would at my dad's. So I did and over the course of the evening it snowed about 6 inches. Righteous.
I arrived back at my dad's around noon, relaxing a bit before my flight which, thanks to the internet, we realized got delayed 2 hours because Milwaukee had shittier weather then us. After trying to get through to Midwest on live chat and telephone we ended up just going to the airport to figure out what was going on and if I was going to make my connecting flight back to Atlanta or not. As it turns out, I wasn't, so I got put on the flight or Tuesday afternoon and promptly called my boss to say I wasn’t going to be in on Tuesday, boo hoo ;) My dad let me have Kh'et over for dinner that night. We had lamb, which was amazing.
My flight got into Atlanta last night, I waited by the car for Marrow for all of 10 minutes, went to work this morning and here I am :) I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at home and can't wait to go back for 2 weeks come the end of the month. It sounds like I'll be skiing for a week which always makes me happy!
I may post photos later...

Date: 2008-12-04 07:07 am (UTC)Skiing sounds like fun! Unfortunately, I'm not that coordinated, nor athletic enough, to use my leg muscles for that kind of stuff. Heck, I can barely skate, let alone think about trying to ski! Now sledding...Sledding I can handle. Gravity & snow does all the work for you.
Ooo-ooo~! I wanna see pictures! =D

Date: 2008-12-04 03:43 pm (UTC)Yes yes, better safe than sorry :) But he acts like I haven't -ever- driven in snow before.
Skiing certainly is not for everyone. Sledding is -always- a blast though X) I need to do that more.
For you, there will be pictures. But probably not until this weekend.
