The Stand by Stephen King, the unabridged version. God damn that was a long book, good though.

Date: 2011-06-08 02:50 pm (UTC)I really love the philosophical takes on what constitutes good and evil. And while I'm not a particular religious person, I did enjoy the historical references to the forced atheism of the Stalin era in Russia, and it's impact on the people.
I think what I enjoyed most though was the uniqueness of the different characters and the vivid descriptions of Woland's crew & world, particularly the whoel "Devil's Ball" part. It really draws you into the story and let's you picture it in your head.
